Mid-term it was suddenly announced that three teachers would be making an unexpected year-long visit to Xinjiang to teach Chinese to the natives. Surprise all round, not least for the teachers who were given a weeks notice and a 1000-mile one-way train ticket.

What a nasty looking vegetable. And the baicai doesn't look too good either.
