It may be a summer palace, but it looked pretty good even in winter. |

It looked like a good idea to walk across... There were steps down
onto the ice and hundreds of people walking over to the island. After some
cracking noises and ginger footsteps we reached the other side, to find
a closed gate and a sign saying "Do not walk on the ice!". |

Apparently there are literally thousands of unique paintings like
this one on the palace buildings. |
