Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony (and the whole conference) was quite a big event for the quiet city of Tengzhou. |

Many Worthies were elevated to the podium to give passionate if irrelevant speeches about matters of government. |
 |

 |
There was a very, very large police presence, not just during the opening ceremony - we had a sizeable police escort wherever we went. |
 |
No expense was spared. |
 |
I suspect the meeting was not quite carbon-neutral. |
 |
Apparently none of the organisers noticed the irony of holding an event in honour of a philosopher responsible for three books titled "Condemnation of Music" consisting almost entirely of singing and dancing. |
